The first travel card to introduce the 100,000 Avios point bonus has brought it back. The Chase British Airways Visa Signature card you will get 50,000 bonus Avios after your first use of the card. And 25,000 bonus Avios after you make $10,000 in purchases within the first year of account opening. Plus an additional 25,000 bonus Avios after you make an additional $10,000 in purchases also within the first year of account opening
In addition to its hefty bonus, the card has the following features:
- No foreign transaction fees (you will not be charged a foreign transaction fee when you make purchases abroad)
- Earn AVIOS with every purchase (in addition to the bonus, you will get 2.5 Avios for every $1 spent on British Airways purchases and 1.25 Avios for every $1 spent on all other purchases)
- Smart chip technology — especially useful for trips to Europe where merchants may require a chip-based card
- Earn a “travel together ticket” when you spend at least $30,000 on your British Airways Visa. This companion ticket allows you to bring a companion along on your next reward flight for free (though you do pay taxes). Each companion ticket you earn is good for two years.
Even if you don’t fly BA, you can still use your Avios to redeem for awards through British Airways’ Oneworld alliance partners, which include airberlin, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, JAL, LAN, Malev Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana, Qantas, Royal Jordanian, and S7.
The card does carry a $95 annual fee.

Why did you create one shared currency?
British Airways and Iberia have merged to form the International Airlines Group (IAG). The Mileage Company, operators of the UK Avios travel rewards program and the Avios shared currency, is part of IAG. Having a shared global currency means giving customers more choice, flexibility and better value across all IAG loyalty programs. As IAG grows, Avios will grow with it.
